Head Transfer Mode: Bottling and Canning

Hold tank head pressure to within 0.02 PSI during packaging, for consistent fill levels with no drift and no operator babysitting.

The mode

Once carbonation is complete (target pressure and tank pressure matching), switch the FizzWizz into head transfer mode. The CO2 input connects directly to the arm fitting, and CO2 flows from the regulator through the arm separator straight into the headspace.

Switching modes

  1. Confirm carbonation is complete: target pressure and tank pressure match, or very nearly.
  2. At New Batch, select No.
  3. Scroll to Head Pressure and adjust it from the 15 PSI default if your line needs something different.
  4. Press Go.

While the headspace fills, the reading jumps around. Once it reaches setpoint it settles just above it.

Why it matters

The unit holds head pressure absolutely steady, with no drifting. That matters because if head pressure drifts, your bottle and can fill levels go up and down with it.

The numbers

Head pressure defaults to 15 PSI, which is what most bottling lines want to run. Adjust it up or down as needed. During the entire filling process, the head pressure varies by about 0.02 PSI. The moment pressure dips below setpoint, CO2 flows in to restore it, then settles just above.

Consistent head pressure means consistent fill levels, batch after batch.
